Gastric ulcers are very common in horses, especially among competition horses, but they also occur in leisure horses and foals. The condition is caused by damage to the protective lining of the stomach.
Gastro contains the barrier-forming and naturally occurring substance lecithin that protects the sensitive stomach against acidic stomach acid. Like a stomach balm for the sensitive individual!
How does Lecithin work?
Lecithin is a natural substance found in the horse's stomach. When lecithin comes into contact with stomach acid, it breaks down into phospholipids. Phospholipids are a group of fats found in the cell membranes of the cells that protect and repair the lining of the horse's stomach.
What is Maerl?
Maerl is a red algae (Lithothamnium spp) that grows naturally on the seabed. It has a structure that allows the body to easily absorb nutrients. Maerl has a rapid effect on the pH value in the stomach but is also effective over a long period of time, which keeps the pH value stable.

Stomach acid

Gastro can be given as a daily supplement or for limited periods. Many horses are affected by medication, travel, or competition, in which case it is beneficial to give the horse Gastro. Gastro is also recommended by Swedish veterinarians.

Usage Instruction:
Dosage information Horse weight / Daily dose: Large horse (500 kg) / 75 ml/day Pony (250 kg) / 40 ml/day 15 ml (10 g) per 100 kg body weight per day Double dose for the first 10 days. Mix dry with other feed just before feeding (do not soak). 15 ml = 1 tablespoon
